Terms of Use

The short version: the tracker is yours and needs no account. The community is optional, and joining it means agreeing to these terms. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour — content that breaks these rules is removed and the accounts responsible are ended.

1. What these terms cover

OpenTV is a TV and film tracker published by Insightfy LLC. The tracker itself — your library, your watch history, your statistics — runs on your device, requires no account, and you may use it without agreeing to anything beyond the App Store's own terms.

These terms govern the OpenTV community: the optional part where people write comments, rate episodes, publish lists and follow each other. You accept these terms when you join the community. If you do not accept them, do not join — the tracker keeps working exactly as before.

2. You must be 13 or older

You must be at least 13 years old to join the community. The community carries writing by other people, which we do not control before it is posted.

3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour in the OpenTV community. Content that breaks the rules below is removed, and accounts that post it are suspended or permanently terminated — without warning, and without refund of anything purchased.

You agree not to post, publish or send:

anything that harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates another person;
hate speech, or content attacking or demeaning anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation;
sexually explicit or pornographic material, and — absolutely and without exception — any material that sexualises a minor;
graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies or incites violence or self-harm;
content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
another person's private information, including their real name, address, phone number or photographs, published without their consent;
spam, scams, phishing, malware, or bulk unsolicited promotion;
impersonation of another person, or of OpenTV or Insightfy LLC.

You also agree not to abuse the service itself: no attempting to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, no automated scraping or bulk collection of other people's profiles or comments, and no circumventing a block, a suspension or a termination by creating another account.

4. How the rules are enforced

Every comment carries a report control, and every profile can be reported and blocked. You can report content as spam, harassment, hate speech, sexual content, violence, an unmarked spoiler, or something else.

Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours.
Content is hidden automatically once enough separate people report it, before any human has looked at it — so the worst material stops being visible quickly rather than eventually.
Blocking works in both directions. Someone you block cannot see your profile or your comments, and you will not see theirs, anywhere in the app.
Accounts that post objectionable content are terminated, and we may remove any content and end any account at our discretion where these terms are broken.

5. Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you write. By posting to the community you give Insightfy LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that content within OpenTV, for as long as you choose to keep it published. This licence exists only so the app can show your comment to the people you posted it for. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already retained by other people's devices or required by law.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.

6. Other people's content

Comments, ratings and lists in the community are written by other users. They are not reviewed before publication and they are not our opinions. You may find content you dislike or disagree with; the report and block controls exist for exactly that. Where content breaks these terms, report it and it will be dealt with.

7. Your account, and ending it

You may leave the community at any time from Settings → Account, which signs this device out and deletes nothing, or delete your community account entirely, which removes your sign-in identity, your comments, ratings, likes, follows, blocks, published lists and notifications.

Your library, watch history and imported data live on your phone and are never affected by any of this — not by leaving, not by deletion, and not by us terminating an account.

We may suspend or terminate a community account that breaks these terms. That does not touch the tracker on your device.

8. The tracker is provided as-is

OpenTV is provided without warranty of any kind. Show and film information comes from TheTVDB and TMDB, and we do not guarantee it is accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Insightfy LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or the community. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your library is stored on your device. Keeping a backup is your responsibility, and the app provides export and optional iCloud backup for that purpose.

9. Changes

If these terms change, the updated version will be published at this address, and continuing to use the community means accepting the change.
